*Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly before you clean or touch your piercing for any reason.
*Clean your piercing once/twice a day or as needed during the healing.
*Do not twist or rotate the jewelry.
Packaged sterile saline is a gentle choice for piercing aftercare. We encourage you to use sterile saline labeled for use as wound wash. Your saline ingredients should list .09% sodium chloride as the only ingredient.
*Initial bleeding, localized swelling, tenderness, or bruising.
*During healing some discoloration, itching, secretion of whitish-yellow fluid (not pus) that will form a crust on the jewelry.
*A piercing may seem healed before the healing process is complete. Piercings heal from the outside in, and the interior will remain fragile.
*Even a healed piercing can shrink or close in minutes. Even if you have had it for years. It is best to alway keep jewelry in your body piercings.
*Avoid cleaning with rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Betadine, Hibiclens, Dial, or other strong soaps. These can damage your healing piercing. Also do not use ointments because they do not allow your piercing to get the air circulation it needs and may contain ingredients that are not safe for long-term use.
*Avoid Bactine, pierced ear care solutions, and other products containing Belzalkonium Cloride (BZK). This can be irritating and should not be used for long-term use.
*Avoid all beauty and personal care products on or around the piercing, including cosmetics, lotions, sprays, etc.
*Avoid putting your healed piercings in a lake, pool, hot tub, etc.
*Avoid over cleaning piercings. Once or twice a day is all you need.
